First Children’s Art Workshop!

This week was a new adventure co-hosting a children’s art workshop for the first time! It was a group of about twenty or so 7-9 year olds.

At first they arrived with a ton of energy and it was hard to manage. But I was so surprised by how engrossed they get once given some paper, oil pastels and crayons! I’ve always heard about how pure children’s creativity can be and their natural ability to express themselves. But I had never really witnessed it in person.

We had a whole structured plan and layout of how the class would go but we didn’t need to use half of it. It seemed as though interceding into their process would almost ruin it! What a joyful experience of what I hope to be the start of many more to come 🙂
